Tide Against Suicide is a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention at the University of Alabama. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among U.S. college students. Tide Against Suicide aspires to zero instances of suicide at UA. We imagine a non-judgmental place where suicide is talked about openly, and a community that rallies behind each other wherever they are on their journey. It is our hope that the discussions, training, tools, and resources provided by this initiative will not only equip people with the confidence to help someone in distress, but to give hope to those who are struggling.
